Overview

Join HOLS for a Lincoln Square Architecture & History Walking Tour exploring the neighborhood’s architecture and history. Pick up your tickets at Eventbrite via this link here.

Details

This tour will take participants through the neighborhood to explore Lincoln Square’s rich architectural and historical character, and is the first tour of the summer. It also serves as an opportunity for Heart of Lincoln Square members who may be interested in becoming future tour guides to get involved.

We'll gather at Giddings Plaza next to Geraldine's between 9:45 - 10:00 AM. The first 15 mins will allot time for everyone to grab a discounted beverage of coffee or tea from Geraldine's before the tour begins promtly at 10:15. Plaese check in with Loren before picking up your beverage.

We would greatly appreciate a $20 donation, or to give what you can to this event, as it will go towards funding for HOLS and the Lincoln Square Neighborhood.

About Your Guide

Loren Johnson, AIA, LEED AP, is a licensed architect with more than 15 years of professional experience across Illinois, Michigan, and Iowa. He currently works for CannonDesign, a nationally recognized architecture and design firm at the forefront of innovation and community-focused design.

Loren is a professional architect specializing in public-interest design—the schools, libraries, and civic spaces that help communities thrive. Along the route, he'll share the stories behind Lincoln Square's architectural gems, from the Kraus Music Store that capped Louis Sullivan's legacy to the postmodernist Sulzer Regional Library that anchors the neighborhood.

We value our Heart of Lincoln Square members and appreciate your support in helping bring this walking tour series to life as a shared community experience.
